Nageeba Hasan, REC CC, URI Africa Great Lakes

Nageeba is a Transformative Peace Practioner now for 23 years working with young people and actors in their spaces and 13 years interfaith and intercultural experience. She started the women’s desk at Uganda Muslim supreme council 2009 and lobbied for women to be constitutionalized within interreligious council of Uganda working closely with very powerful mentors - Ms Despina, Sister Goretti (RIP), Ms. Sarah Kasule (RIP) and Ms Florence Kwesigabo. She has been part of the URI family since inception and proudly URI CC member. She moved the motion at the East African Community Peace & Security conference to have an interreligious council that has women and youth in leadership as she represented the council of presidents and the executive board of the interreligious council of Uganda. She is a Co-Chairperson of the African women of faith Network and a member of the executive board with the African Council of Religious Council (ACRL). A member of the International Coordinating Committee –Global women of faith and a member of the high level Multifaith religious leaders committee for refugees with UNCHR & Religions for peace international. She served as a board member to the interreligious council of Uganda and on the Uganda Country Coordinating committee of the Global Fund Board for HIV/AIDS, TB & Malaria representing the faith-based constituencies. She is an excellent Facilitator in transformative pedagogy for teachers - a value-based ethics education approach. An inspirational child-centered educator nurturing the youths and children’s Agency. Experienced in multi-Faith advocacy and Comfortable crossing cultural, religious & ethnic boundaries without compromising anyone's values for the common good and on difficult conversations. Member of the Regional Faith Leaders Forum (RFLF) for Social Cohesion and Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB). Member of the Faith to Action SHRS Advocate champion. She supported and contributed to the youth manual for the prevention of violent extremism with the African Union and the discovery and design toolkit for the youth club – let girls learn with Peace Corps. She participated in the drafting and validation of the recently launched National Action plan NAPIII UNSCR 1325 in Uganda.

Hana Mitra Rambaran, URI Netherlands

Hanna Mitra Rambaran is a second child of Johannes Rambaran and Soemintra Sansaar. Both her parents have fully earned their spurs in Surinamese and Dutch society in the field of social commitment to others. She was born with this attitude. She studied Health Sciences and worked in that field. Her heart especially went out to the LGBTI community and the problems they were struggling with in the field of AIDS. That is why she also worked in Suriname for a number of years: setting up a prevention network. Back in the Netherlands, she made the switch to the media, where she made productions about taboo subjects. Eventually, she ended up in politics where she campaigned for gay and women's emancipation. Now she is working at The Hague University of Applied Sciences as a communication officer and teacher. Also, she has been active for a number of years at United Religions Initiative Netherlands, of which she is the chairperson. They work internationally with the CC Bridge of Bulgaria and locally with organizations in the Netherlands.
