On Monday, 16 February 2026, URI Europe launched its new Earth Healing Interfaith Webinar Series with a powerful opening webinar led by Dimitar Borumov (BRIDGES Cooperation Circle): “Ecology & Economy: Uncovering the Hidden.”
This first gathering brought together Cooperation Circles, interfaith partners, and individuals across Europe and beyond to explore the deep connections between ecological responsibility and economic systems, and the role faith communities can play in shaping a more just and sustainable future.
About the Earth Healing Webinar Series

-
Connect URI CCs, partners, and individuals across Europe
-
Strengthen interfaith collaboration for environmental action
-
Share resources, good practices, and pathways for Earth healing
-
Support joint initiatives with real community impact
Held every third Monday of the month at 17:00 CET / 16:00 UK | Online via Zoom

Key Reflections from the Webinar
Dimitar offered an insightful perspective on how humanity’s relationship with the Earth has shifted from sustainable resource use toward exploitative economic practices. He introduced the Donut Economy model as a framework for balancing human needs within planetary boundaries, emphasizing that ecological well-being must come before endless economic growth.
Participants engaged in rich discussion on spirituality, justice, indigenous reciprocity, and practical steps communities can take locally.

Resource Spotlight & Next Steps
URI’s Earth Restoration Coordinator, Lauren Van Ham, shared learning opportunities, including the Peacebuilding Through Earth Restoration Course and upcoming communities of practice.
Participants are encouraged to stay connected and continue the conversation through URI’s learning spaces.
