As we step into 2026, URI Europe’s Earth Restoration community has begun the year with renewed energy, deep connection, and a shared commitment to care for our planet. The Earth Healing Interfaith Webinar Series brought together more than 20 participants from 10 countries across Europe and beyond.

Designed as a relational and collaborative space, the series aims to connect grassroots initiatives, strengthen capacities for environmental action, and explore opportunities for joint initiatives with tangible impact throughout the year ahead.

Participants introduced themselves and their work, offering a rich snapshot of faith-based environmental initiatives already underway — from local climate clubs, tree planting, energy audits, and waste-repurposing projects, to education, advocacy, and interfaith collaboration on climate justice.

The session also introduced:

  • The vision and goals of the Earth Healing webinar series as a space for connection, learning, and collaboration

  • URI Europe’s growing focus on environmental and climate issues as a core area of interfaith impact

  • Presentation done by Birmingham Council of Faith CC from the UK on Footsteps (Faiths for a Low Carbon Future) project - presentation can be seen here.

  • Global examples of Earth restoration work shared by URI’s Earth Restoration Coordinator, Lauren Van Ham (presentation can be seen here).

  • Emerging themes such as root causes of climate change, community-based solutions, human mobility, and spiritual resilience

Looking ahead

Participants agreed to continue meeting monthly, with different members leading upcoming webinars focused on:

  • Root causes of environmental challenges

  • Practical home and community actions

  • Climate change and human mobility

  • Sharing concrete tools, practices, and good examples across the network

The group also committed to developing a shared webinar template and a toolkit of good practices to support collective impact.
