We’re thrilled to announce the launch of a vital new publication, The ABC of Hate Speech and Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB), a collaborative work between URI Europe’s Cooperation Circle SEC (Sombor Education Center) from Serbia and Youth for Peace (YFP) from Bosnia and Herzegovina. This significant project has also received support from the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations through its Youth Solidarity Fund, 2024 edition.
In today’s increasingly diverse and interconnected world, the protection of freedom of religion or belief (FoRB) stands as a foundation for human dignity and democratic society. Yet, this freedom is often challenged by the rise of hate speech that targets individuals and groups based on their religious identities. The ABC of Hate Speech and FoRB addresses the pressing need to balance the safeguarding of FoRB while actively combating the negative effects of hate speech. Through this publication, readers are invited to explore this complex relationship, fostering dialogue, understanding, and action.
