Our conference happened 22 years after the first ever regional URI summit in Oxford in 1997. The URI Charter was subsequently signed in the year 2000 in Pittsburg, so URI is approaching its 20th anniversary next year. Today URI is thriving in Europe through the work of 60 Cooperation Circles in 22 countries and with the dedicated guidance of its board, global council trustees and general meeting.
During the URI Europe assembly in Ohrid we provided space for European CC leaders and URI Europe team members to come together and take time for deep reflection, information, visioning and planning common actions.
The focus of the assembly was to plan for the year 2020 when URI will be 20 years old; we will honor and celebrate our past; expand, build and increase our work; raise awareness of URI and the difference we make.
During the Asembly participants exchanged a lot of great ideas and there were plenty of nice and very productive meetings.
URI Europe Assembly participants also collected cigarette butts at Ohrid lake beach raising awareness of environmental issues that are affecting today’s World.
URI Europe Assembly that was held in Ohrid was very successful assembly with a lot of new ideas, good conversations, planned future collaboration and activities for 20th URIE celebration.
Big thank you to our great hosts (CDI Tetovo CC) and all amazing participants. Stay tuned for future exciting announcements.
